British Assoc. Spinal Cord Injury Specialists (BASCIS) Meeting, 27 January 2005, Cardiff, U.K.

The ProCord Experience:
A Novel Therapeutic Approach for Acute Complete Spinal Cord Injury

By Dr. David Snyder, V.P. Clinical Development, Proneuron Biotechnologies

Recent studies have shown that implantation of autologous macrophages that have been incubated with regenerative autologous tissue leads to significant morphological and functional recovery in animals with damaged spinal cords.

Following the phase I studies, Proneuron has started an international, multi-center, randomized-controlled Phase II FDA-approved trial of ProCord (a therapy using autologous macrophages).

The scientific rationale, phase I results, phase II design and progress will be presented at this meeting.
